Pathom
Privacy Policy
Pathom is a puzzle game. This policy explains what information the app handles, why, and what choices you have. We keep it short because the app itself collects very little.
1. Summary
- Pathom has no accounts. You never give us your name, e-mail address or password.
- Your game progress (solved levels, stars, XP, streak, badges, power-ups and settings) is stored only on your device. We cannot see it.
- The app shows advertisements provided by Google AdMob. The advertising provider processes a limited amount of technical data, such as your device's advertising identifier and IP address, to show and measure ads. You can choose non-personalised ads.
- We do not sell your data, and we do not use analytics or crash-reporting services beyond what the advertising provider processes.
2. Information stored on your device
The app stores the following on your device so the game can remember where you are:
- which levels you solved, with your best moves, best time and stars;
- your XP, player level, badges, streak, daily-reward day and opened chests;
- your inventory of hints, peeks, skips and streak shields;
- settings such as sound, vibration and line style.
This information never leaves your device through the app. It is deleted when you delete the app, and you can clear it at any time with Settings → Reset progress inside the app.
3. Reminders
If you allow notifications, the app schedules short come-back reminders on your device (at most two per day, only on days you have not played). They are created and stored locally by the app; no notification service or server of ours is involved and nothing is sent to us. You can switch them off in Settings → Reminders or in your phone's notification settings.
4. Advertising
Pathom is free and is supported by advertisements delivered by Google AdMob, a service of Google LLC. The app shows a banner at the bottom of some screens, an occasional full-screen ad between levels, and optional rewarded ads that you choose to watch in exchange for a power-up.
To deliver and measure ads, Google's advertising software in the app may process:
- your device's advertising identifier (Apple IDFA or Google Advertising ID), where you have allowed it;
- your IP address and approximate location derived from it (country or region);
- device information such as model, operating system version, language and screen size;
- ad interaction data, for example which ads were shown, viewed, clicked or completed;
- diagnostic information about the ad software.
Google uses this information as an independent data controller according to its own policies. You can read how Google uses data from apps that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
Your choices about ads
- European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland: before any ads load, the app shows a consent screen from Google where you can consent, decline, or manage options per purpose. You can change your choice later via Settings → Privacy options (ads) in the app. If you do not consent, you may still see ads, but they are not personalised.
- iOS: the app asks for permission to track through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you choose "Ask App Not to Track", the advertising identifier is not shared and ads are not personalised. You can change this in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Android: you can reset or delete your advertising ID and opt out of ad personalisation in Android Settings → Google → Ads.
- United States: where state privacy laws apply, you can opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information through the same consent options or the device settings above.
5. Information we do not collect
We do not collect your name, e-mail address, contacts, photos, precise location, microphone or camera data, or any content you create. The app does not use accounts, social logins, in-app purchases, or third-party analytics.
6. Children
Pathom is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13 (or the age of digital consent in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the advertising provider, contact us and we will help you address it.
7. Data retention and deletion
- Game data stays on your device until you delete the app or reset your progress in Settings.
- Advertising data is retained by Google according to Google's retention policies. Resetting your advertising identifier in your device settings disconnects previously collected ad data from your device.
Because we hold no personal data ourselves, there is nothing for us to delete on your behalf; deleting the app removes everything the app stored.
8. Security
The app communicates only with Google's advertising services, over encrypted connections. Your game progress never leaves the device.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of personal data, or to object to it. For data processed by Google's advertising services, use the choices in section 4 or contact Google. For anything else, contact us at the address at the top of this policy and we will respond within 30 days.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the effective date at the top and, for significant changes, mention it in the app's store listing. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
